SBB – RAILAWAY OFFERS
RailAway AG, based in Lucerne is a travel tour company owned by the Swiss National Railway (SBB) which offers tour programs and discounts for combined rail travel and destination activities, available through the SBB online system, at most Swiss Rail Stations or by telephone from the Rail Service, 0900 300 300. Some offers are available at ticket machines. A reservation is necessary for some of the offers.
Discounts for packages range from 10% to 50% on the offers, with many around 30%. The packages typically include the rail travel, food vouchers and admission to activities, but not hotels. The offers can be seasonal and time sensitive. The RailAway packages are available for all rail travelers in Switzerland, residents or international travelers. Railaway also offers a mobile phone APP which allows search of monthly updated leisure time offers by region with GPS based search of nearby offers. The app comes with four available languages, German, French, Italian and English. SBB Railaway discount offers are available without any form of pass and can be a way to save money on excursions while traveling without one.
